How Should I Cook Lamb Breast Ribs?
The key to cooking your ribs is ensuring they are on a low heat and nice and slow until tender. The longer you cook them, the more the fat renders and the connective tissue breaks down. This creates tender, juicy meat filled with rich flavours. For the perfect finish, you can crisp them under a hot grill, in the air fryer, or on the BBQ before serving to get them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Lamb ribs work well either lightly seasoned or with your favourite marinades, rubs or glazes. They also pair well with bold flavours such as honey.
Oven-cooked (Our Personal Recommendation)
-
Preheat your oven to 60°C (140°C fan).
-
Place the ribs in a roasting tray, season the ribs generously with salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, or your favourite spice rub, add water or broth, then cover with foil.
-
Cook for 2 and a half to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
-
Ensure you keep an eye on your meat whilst cooking and add water as needed or brush with your glaze.
-
Remove the foil, increase the oven temperature to 220°C, and roast for a further 15 to 20 minutes until the edges are golden and crispy.
BBQ or Smoker
For an authentic barbecue flavour, cook your ribs over an indirect heat at 120–140°C for 3–4 hours until tender. Finish directly over the coals on your BBQ or at high heat for a few minutes to caramelise the outside.
Air Fryer (To Finish)
Once you have slowly cooked your ribs, place them in a preheated air fryer at 200°C for around 6 to 8 minutes to create a beautifully crispy outer layer while keeping the meat tender and juicy.
Vacuum-Sealed For Freshness
To maintain maximum freshness and extend shelf life, all of our lamb breast ribs are vacuum-sealed before dispatch. When you first open the packaging, you may notice a slight odour. This is completely normal and is caused by the vacuum-sealing process, not the freshness of the product. Simply remove the lamb from the packaging and allow them to breathe for a few minutes; the odour will naturally disappear.
Please note: As these are natural products, the size, weight, and type of bones supplied may vary.
